Team Makkelie to the European Championship 2024!
Team Makkelie will represent the Netherlands at the 2024 European Football Championship. Danny Makkelie and assistants Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries will make their appearance next summer in Germany. In addition, Rob Dieperink and Pol Van Boekel will be VAR during the tournament.
It is remarkable that Team Gözübüyük has not been selected. However, Serdar Gözübüyük and Johan Balder will participate as 'Support Match Officials', with Serdar playing the role of fourth official and Johan as reserve assistant. This will undoubtedly be a flink downer for these men.
It is also striking that no Belgian officials have been selected for this tournament. UEFA does welcome an Argentinian arbitral trio, consisting of Facundo Tello, Gabriel Chade and Ezequiel Brailovsky.
